Reflections of Christ: web site updates

I spoke with Cameron Trejo at church today and he mentioned that the Reflections of Christ web site has been updated with some new features.

First of all, the introductory movie on the site contains several of the pictures from the exhibit. Moreover, and probably my favorite feature–the music from the documentary video! I get chills just listening to the music.

Secondly, the Reflections of Christ exhibit will be in Peace River, Aberta, Canada for three weeks. The exhibit opened on March 21st. Other locations and dates will be announced later. Just check the Events section of the site to find out about future locations and dates.

You can also learn more about the artists behind the Reflections of Christ photo exhibit in the About the Artists section of the site. You can find out more about Mark Mabry, the photographer and driving force behind Relfections of Christ; Cameron Trejo, the filmmaker who documented the making of the exhibit; Clyde Bawden, the composer/arranger for the exhibit, and many more who assisted with making the exhibit possible.

There is also a link where you can register to sign-in and watch videos. I registered, but never received a confirming email with a password. This may be an upcoming feature that is still being worked on. For those who want site updates, just select “yes” to receive email notifications when registering to view the videos.

Be sure to also check out the Reflections of Christ blog for posts written by Mark Mabry and to see a slideshow of the pictures from the exhibit. Here is the note from Cameron’s blog entry:

Mark is currently on his way back from an amazing trip to Peace River Canada where he has had some amazing experiences (more on that to come soon). While he is on the road I thought I would post a video that we put together last week which includes every image from the Reflections of Christ exhibit currently on display at the visitors center in Mesa Arizona. We have received so many amazing emails asking for this type of thing – as there are many of you who haven’t had a chance to actually see all the images yet. Here it is set to the amazing compilation of Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing performed by Clyde Bawden and Freddie Ashby. We hope to have this video available for download to your ipod/phones/ and the apple tv – if there is any interest from all of you. Let us know.

Reflections of Christ can be a powerful missionary tool for the Church. Feel free to share the link with your friends, co-workers and family.

  1. Brian, all I can say is “WOW!” What an incredible exhibit. The “home page” video is one of the most powerful things I have seen in years. I was a puddle of tears here at my desk. When you finally get to crucifixion, all I could think was, “they killed Him, they killed the Savior of the world!” What an incredibly inspired exhibit. I forwarded the URL from this exhibit on to dozens of people. Hopefully some of them will be able to see it in person.

  2. Geoff, my Catholic in-laws saw the documentary Cameron Trejo made of the making of the pictures and they were touched. I can’t help but think this exhibit can and will be a powerful tool to bring souls to Christ.

I LOVE the words and music to Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing and find myself playing it over, and over again.

Perhaps a book of the portraits and a video will be released after the exhibit closes for good. I can only hope so!

  3. I’ve been following this project for a while, I love these amazing photographs. I wonder if there’s any chance of it traveling to other areas? A book of the making of and photographs would be wonderful.
