One presidential candidate has a father who was a bigamist(four marriages). Another has a great-grandfather who was a polygamist.
Guess which story is getting more attention?
Do I think either story is relevant to the type of president they would be? Not really, although Obama’s history is closer to affecting him personally and perhaps affecting the types of decisions he would make as president.
But none of this is relevant in the relentless campaign by the media to make Mormons look “weird.”
This has to be one of the biggest Biblical archeological discoveries ever. Archeologists claim to have discovered the tomb where Jesus and Mary Magdalene were buried. And they may have had a son named Judah. No, it’s not April 1.

When a police officer dies in the line of duty, it is customary for other officers in the region to place a black band of mourning over their police shields as a sign of respect. Officers traditionally wear this black band from the time of the officer’s death, until midnight the night of the funeral.
Yesterday, at midnight, the time to wear the black band of mourning ended, just hours after Glendale Police Officer Anthony Holly was laid to rest.
One of the things I’d like to see is an intelligent gospel-related discussion on Iraq and Iran that does not fall into predictable partisanship, Bush-bashing and/or Harry Reid-bashing.
Is it possible?
This was, perhaps, the most positive conversation I’ve ever overheard while a graduate student. Otherwise, it’s a tame example of what I have to deal with multiple times a day, nearly every day.
