Some of you may have noticed that the new member of the First Presidency and the new Apostle are both follicly challenged. There are those of us who share this handicap who rejoice in the prominence of our high-foreheaded brethren. And one of the reasons is that women are lying when they say (and they always say this) that being bald does not mean you are less physically attractive.

Evangelical letter meant to rally support for Romney
I thought the story on this letter from Mark DeMoss, an evangelical who supports the Romney campaign, was interesting. His main purpose is to rally conservative evangelicals to Romney and to warn against the nomination of Rudy Giuliani, who could be described either as socially moderate or liberal, depending on your perspective.
One key comment:
He went on to say, “as a Southern Baptist evangelical and political conservatives, I am convinced I have more in common with most Mormons than I do with a liberal Southern Baptist, Methodist, Roman Catholic or a liberal from any other denomination or faith group.”
Google Street View privacy concerns
Since the launch of Google’s Street View five months ago, they have faced biting criticism from privacy advocates.
Apparently Street View has caught people in compromising situations (e.g.- pictures of sunbathers, people leaving ‘adult’ book stores, etc.). Sadly, that loss of privacy in public spaces now extends to Phoenix.
A blessing for the animals
On the first Saturday of October, coinciding with LDS General Conference, my in-laws’ Catholic parish has their annual “A blessing for the animals” in the courtyard of the church grounds.
This year, as in years past, my wife and I attended with our children. My in-laws brought their new King Charles spaniel dogs, Molly and Moo, to be blessed by their friend, Deacon Herve, O.F.M.
Conference and two-year-old boys
Well, I didn’t get to see much of General Conference this weekend. The culprit is, of course, my two-and-a-half-year-old Tazmanian Devil of a son, Joshua B. Joshua is a the sweetest boy I’ve ever seen (well, in reality, he’s tied with his five-month-old brother Ian), but he does not believe in quietly watching old men (and the occasional woman) droning away on BYU-TV.
